Der Präsident der Sowjetunion, offiziell Präsident der UdSSR oder Präsident der Union der Sozialistischen Sowjetrepubliken genannt, war vom 15. März 1990 bis zum 25. Dezember 1991 Staatsoberhaupt der Sowjetunion. Michail Gorbatschow war die einzige Person, die dieses Amt innehatte. Gorbatschow war von März 1985 bis August 1991 auch Generalsekretär der Kommunistischen Partei der Sowjetunion. Er war der erste und letzte Präsident der Sowjetunion.
