Bezirke der Slowakei
Ein Okres (im englischen Bezirk) ist eine Verwaltungseinheit der Slowakei.
Mehrere Distrikte bilden eine Region. Auf der anderen Seite besteht ein Bezirk aus mehreren Gemeinden, die weiter in Katastergebiete unterteilt sind. Die heutigen Bezirke gibt es seit 1996, die zunächst ihre eigenen Ämter hatten, aber 2004 wurden sie abgeschafft und durch die Bezirksämter ersetzt, die in der Regel für mehrere Bezirke zuständig sind (mit Ausnahme des Bezirks Nové Zámky, der zwei Bezirksämter hat), wodurch die Bezirke auf etwas mehr als statistische Einheiten reduziert wurden.
Die Slowakei hat derzeit 79 Bezirke, wobei die Stadt Bratislava in 5 Bezirke und die Stadt Košice in 4 Bezirke unterteilt ist.
