Seine letzte Hauptrolle war die des Bostoner Polizeibeamten Barry Frost in Rizzoli & Isles.
Young wurde am 1. Februar 1984 in Columbia, South Carolina, geboren. Er studierte an der Universität von Südkalifornien. Thompson beging Selbstmord, indem er sich am 19. August 2013 in seiner Wohnung in Los Angeles, Kalifornien, erschoss. Thompson war 29 Jahre alt.
